Denis Kearney
Denis Kearney was a labor leader of the late 19th century. He was known for his racist views and speeches about Chinese immigrants. He blamed Chinese immigrants for the cause of white workers’ “economic woes.” Kearney began to travel throughout the states to spread his messages about how the “Chinese must go!” Kearney was known to end his speeches with his slogan, “and whatever happens, the Chinese must go.”
