Janice K. Brewer: Governor of Arizona
Governor Brewer is an advocate for securing the Arizona border and keeping illegal immigrants out of the state. She wants to keep all citizens safe, and keep the state a healthy and welcoming place to live. A strong economy doesn't include illegal immigrants, so she has a multitude of ways to keep the border secure. Her ideas off of her website are:
--> Aviation support is critical to the effort on the ground - especially given the rugged nature of much of Arizona's border terrain.
--> The border fence needs to be completed, reinforced and maintained.
-->The United States must be prepared to detain, prosecute and then incarcerate convicted violators of United States laws.
Governor Brewer has held her title since January 21st, 2009. She was born in 1944, and is still alive today, in 2012. She is relevant to this topic because the border of Mexico and Arizona line up with one another, and part of her job is to deal with the incoming immigrants, and how to deal with it.
